Bleaching or Teeth Whitening

Natural teeth come in a range of shades in the light yellow/light grey zone, and tend to darken both with age and with an accumulation of surface stains, most notably from coffee or tea, cigarette smoke, red wine and other foods and drinks. So while teeth are not naturally meant to be bright white, and grey or yellowish teeth are not necessarily unclean or poorly cared-for, most people nevertheless prefer the look of a gleaming white smile.

There are a number of ways to achieve that look for your teeth. We would be pleased to talk to you about your options, such as a custom whitening kit. It is important to realize that not all teeth will respond to the various types of treatments that are available. The method that will be most effective for you will depend primarily on the reason for the discolouration, but also on the degree of staining. You should also know that Health Canada tolerates a certain degree of exaggeration in the claims of teeth whitening products. Before you buy something off the shelf, come in to Cedarwood and ask us for a consultation. We'll make sure you find the right way to brighten your smile and keep it healthy.
